Welcome to the first 2008 newsletter. dgmAffiliates are pleased to announce the win of the entire JD Williams account on an exclusive basis. The campaign has run for the past two years on a dual network basis but various factors have led to a decision to operate exclusively with dgmAffiliates.The primary reason is the clients desire to have more control over their entire campaign. The beauty of online marketing is the transparency offered and as reporting capabilities mature, merchants are going to demand more control over the information pertaining to the behaviour of their customers. JD Williams wish to understand more about what the decisions being made by people purchasing on their site and dgmAffiliates are able so assist them in doing so.

Secondly, as merchant knowledge about online marketing, and the affiliate channel in particular, becomes more sophisticated, then the role of the network changes. Instead of merely being a tracking solution provider and conduit between the merchant and a pool of affiliates, the network takes a much more prominent position. In this instance, JD Williams view the affiliate channel as an integral part of their marketing mix and seek to work with an affiliate network that understand and are in tune with the requirements of their business.

At dgmAffiliates we are looking to position ourselves as a key strategic partner to our clients, and it is this ethos that has led to us winning the JD Williams account on an exclusive basis. We have gone about this by gaining an in depth understanding of their needs and tailored our offering around these. We look forward to continuing to grow the success of the affiliate channel with JD Williams and many more partners going forward.

I started at dgm the week before Christmas and had a great first week. It’s definitely true what they say about the industry!

I graduated last year from Birmingham University with BA.Hons in Economics and Asian Studies and then spent 6 months travelling around the world before making the decision to move into the unknown a.k.a affiliate marketing. The team here have a great deal of expertise so I’m sure I will learnquickly! I will be working alongside Helen and Catherine as part of the new Affiliate team.

I love shopping but hate the queues, high heels but not the blisters, rugby but not the England team (sorry, I’m a Welsh fan!) but most of all I love to travel. There are so many more places I would love to visit, but just not enough time at the moment, and I’m not sure how many more months I could spend living out of a backpack!
