Chief Executive Officer

Carl Davis

Carl has worked within the IT industry for 10 years, and joined dgm in 2002 as a software developer. In 2006 he was appointed as Head of Technology and in early 2007 he became Chief Technology Officer. He was instrumental in successfully reviewing and transforming the technology division of the Group which provides dgm with a real competitive edge within its industry. In 2007 Carl lead the successful management buyout of the UK business.

During this time he has gained valuable experience of the media, financial and engineering sectors. Internet based trading and delivery software has been his primary focus throughout his career. Carl holds degrees in Law, Legal Practice Certification,and an MSc in Information Technology with distinction.

John Porter
Chairman

John Porter

John was appointed to the Board as Executive Chairman of Deal Group Media plc in November 2005 and in 2007 joined the management buyout team of the UK Business. He has an active role within the business and oversees the Group’s strategy and operations. John has substantial PLC experience particularly within the technology and online sectors.He is also Chairman of i-spire Plc, a new media investment company with a shareholding in Deal Group Media plc.

As a founder of Redbus Interhouse PLC he served as chairman during its early stages and in November 2005 the company was merged with Telecity. John Porter was the co-founder of Verifone Inc, the market innovator and leader in credit verification equipment and service, which was sold to Hewlett Packard in 1997. John is a graduate of Oxford University, Institute d’Etudes Politiques, Paris and Stanford University.

Nicky Applegarth
Director of Digital Services

Nicky Applegarth

Nicky joined dgm as an Account Director in September 2005. She has worked on some of dgmAffiliates largest campaigns such as BT, Be, Eclipse, Demon, Pipex, Tiscali, Virgin Media and Vodafone and has been instrumental in delivering highly impressive ROI on all of these programmes. She now heads up the delivery and account management team.

Emma Boyce
Sales Director

Emma Boyce

Emma joined dgm in April 2006. Emma has a wealth of experience in the media industry, including 10 years experience in the National Sales Market for regional media owners , such as Newsquest, Trinity Mirror, Midland News Association, and the MEN & Guardian. Emma had a brief stint as planner / buyer at PHD in 2000 before moving into digital development at Newsquest Media, which was the first introduction to online. She has worked on accounts such as Sainsbury’s, BBC, Transport for London and Kraft.

Dan Cohen
Research & Strategy Director

Dan Cohen

After over 10 years in the advertising industry, Dan joined dgm in 2005 to head up the Research department. After a stint
as Affiliate Operations Director Dan recently returned to his research roots and now heads up the Research & Strategy Team.
Dan is instrumental in providing the dgm team with strategic insight and marketing intelligence, as well as exploring viable
opportunities for development.

Prior to dgm, Dan held positions at Granada Media Sales, Chrysalis Radio, The European, and most recently at GWR as
Head of Marketing. Dan has a degree in European Business Studies from Nottingham Business School.

Adrian Prince
Information Technology Director

Adrian Prince

Adrian joined dgm as a Data Warehouse Consultant in September 2005 to manage the new data warehouse introduced with dgmPro. He was promoted to Technical Project Manager in February 2006 and has been instrumental in introducing control and project management processes within the Technical Team. IN 2007 Adrian was promoted to Head of Technology.

Prior to joining dgm, Adrian managed the data warehouse and CRM systems within W I Link for four years. Before W I Link,he worked with various companies as a consultant and in particular was a key member of the NatWest Technical team for four years, implementing and supporting the Application Development and Project Management (PRINCE2) methodologies. Adrian began his career with IBM, progressing from a developer, analyst, data warehouse specialist and project manager.

Chris Russell-Smith
Marketing Director

Chris joined dgm in November 2007 as Marketing Director. Chris has worked in media and marketing for the past 12 years previously holding positions at Newsquest Media Group, the regional media owner and media agency Carat, where he worked on leading companies such as Specsavers, British Gas, NTL and Arcadia. He is responsible for all internal and external communications and for delivering the businesses overall marketing strategy.

Chris has a degree in Psychology from the University of Leicester and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, of which he is also a member. Chris expects to earn his Chartered Marketer accreditation in July 2008.
