The JD Williams affiliate campaign has been running for the last two years without a deletion rate being applied to the program. Therefore, regardless of whether a sale was valid or not affiliates have been paid out on every sale driven.
Having closely analysed the effective CPA per customer JDW have decided to introduce a reversal file and delete sales which are credit rejected or returned. Therefore, sales will be deleted on the campaign if: A customer fails the credit check
If a customer returns the whole purchase order
If a customer returns only part of the order, affiliates will be paid commission on the whole sale. The deletion policy began on the 4th March 2008, so affiliates may see deletions being applied to the account from this date onwards. JD Williams have a 28 day return policy so sales will be validated/deleted 5 weeks after the date of the sale which means the first date you should see deletions from the 1st of April onwards. We have monitored the previous month’s stats and based on these results we envisage an average deletion rate of 25% on the campaign. If required, we can supply a full list of the order ids which are being deleted and if these are returns or credit rejects. We will be working closely with JD Williams and our affiliates to help minimise the deletion rate as much as possible. Once we have a better understanding of the deletion rates, we will be able to re-model commission to accommodate for this drop.
